Festival Feature: Ram Vakkalanka

Ram Vakkalanka was born and brought up in India, steeped in the Yogic tradition. He studied Sankskrit language, Yogic philosophy and Nada Yoga since childhood. Based in Toronto, Ram travels all over the world sharing his deep knowledge of Yogic philosophy, Sanskrit and Nada Yoga. So far, 22 CDs in three languages, one DVD as well as an online video course about the origin and evolution of Yoga of his works have been released, as well as appearing on Radio and TV.

Ram will be presenting three sessions over the Festival Weekend, including a Nada Yoga workshop (a guided meditation on the Chakras to the accompaniment of live Sitar), leading the Saturday Kirtan and taking us through the sacred texts of Bhagavad Gita and Yoga Sutras on Sunday.

At BYF 2015: Amazee

Amazeephoto1Amazee is one of our festival sponsors, and is a spiritual party energiser who is no stranger to performing at spiritual morning raves and is well known within the new conscious raving scene.

With her amazing vocal talent she enters a divine sacred space on the mic and guides the music and everyone at the gathering to a subliminal state, a true conscious dance experience, taking the celebration to another level.

Our flashmobs have been a great way to get everyone excited about yoga, and Cat Duval & Holly Cooper have been the people creating them. Cat has also provided lots of yoga mats for the festival, ensuring as many people as possible have a chance to experience all the different free classes we have on offer!

Pablo Menfesawe – Imani BA (Hons), MA, BSY, (YRT) ITEC is the founder of Afrikan Yoga, a system of integral healing with Ancient Egyptian origins known as Smai Taui.
