Chair of the Trustees - Position

We are delighted to announce that the Brighton Yoga Foundation is currently seeking a new chair. We are currently at a crucial junction, and we require an experienced chair with a background in business management, change management or extensive internal operational management to drive us forward.

Although it would be a benefit to have experience in the charitable and/or Yoga and wellbeing sectors, what is more important is demonstratable experience in supporting an organisation meet its targets and driving effective and lasting change.

A passion to help the foundation achieve its goals and a genuine support of the mission of BYF is essential. Also essential, is a knowledge of governance and in particular, the duties of a chair and trustee.

Board Positions x 2 positions

At the moment, our Board of Trustees is looking for people with a background in one or more of the following areas - coordination of outreach activities for disadvantaged communities, financial expertise, marketing and events experience, safeguarding for young people and vulnerable adults or any other experience which you feel could benefit the foundation.

Trustees are expected to attend four board meetings per year minimum and most trustees will get involved in the work of sub-committees, such as yoga outreach or fundraising groups, and will attend around approximately one sub-committee meeting per month.
The minimum commitment is 3 years.
